I first noticed the buds on the Christmas cactus in December, but it wasn’t until a couple of days ago that it burst into bloom. Now it is a delightful combination of buds and flowers and it’s so cheery to have in the kitchen on a cold January day!

This is for the FOTD challenge.
One of the beauties of the season! Thanks for sharing!!!

Ours were in the garden and flowered in our winter July and August ..but someone forgot to water them in the summer!

Sorry about that – it’s hard to remember to water plants sometimes… 🙂

Beautiful. Maybe this cactus is as confused as we humans are. Been a rough year in 2020.

I love Christmas cactuses. My mother had a windowsill full of them, and they were so pretty. I love the color of yours. Beautiful, Meg.

I had two beautiful Christmas cactus plants but my cats loved to sleep on top of them! But your beautiful photo makes me want to try again… I have to find a location they can’t get to (ha ha ha).

With its hanging branches and beautiful blossoms, Christmas cacti is a pretty stunning plant. My aunty used to have one, and we always waited patiently for it to show off the gorgeous flowers 🙂

This is the most flowers I’ve seen on this plant – it was well worth the wait!

How beautiful! I have a Christmas cactus with just one flower on it now – a creamy colour – which is out of season in my subtropical climate. We have had a few cooler days this summer though, so perhaps my poor plant is confused!

Your flower sounds like it’s a pretty color! I’m not sure how these plants know when they’re supposed to bloom… 🙂

So lovely, Meg. I have three of these outside my kitchen window, one red, one white and one pink. They have also just burst into flower. 🙂
