“Here’s your ice cream. Eat it outside.”
Meggie takes the cone.

She wanders into the backyard garden filled with lavender,
butterflies and hydrangeas.

Hummingbirds zigzag.
Ice cream starts dripping.
A bumblebee chases her.
Safe!
Meggie should eat the
melting ice cream.
Then she sees a chipmunk.
A new adventure begins.

This is a story I wrote earlier this year where the limit was 50 words. Although it’s about Meggie it’s definitely fiction – she would never let her ice cream melt!
I laughed out loud when I read “Maggie…would never let her ice cream melt.” A wonderful post to begin my week, Meg. Lavender, butterflies and hydrangeas – and of course ice cream – a tranquil moment.

Thanks Rebecca! I’m impressed that Meggie chose adventure over ice cream – I’d like to think I would but…maybe some ice cream first… 🙂

Perish the thought that ice cream should go to waste! I think the adventure could wait for a few minutes until the ice cream had been devoured. 😅Lovely photos, Meg.

Thank you! I agree that ice cream is just as important as adventure!

Mmm ice cream. I had a nice chuckle from reading the last part about how you would never let your ice cream melt. I’m right there with you!

I don’t think I’d ever let ice cream melt if I could help it!
