A Christmas Cactus in January

I first noticed the buds on the Christmas cactus in December, but it wasn’t until a couple of days ago that it burst into bloom. Now it is a delightful combination of buds and flowers and it’s so cheery to have in the kitchen on a cold January day!

This is for the FOTD challenge.

A New Year Begins

The start of a new year is the time for a fresh beginning. It has been so much fun starting this blog and I’m looking forward to more adventures next year! As Anne of Green Gables said, “Marilla, isn’t it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?”

These pictures are from Prince Edward Island. Although they were taken in the summer they seem just right for now as we look ahead to warmer weather.

Happy New Year!

Pumpkin time!

Here are some suggestions to have a fun day on Halloween.

Go to your local grocery store or market for these essentials:

A pumpkin (if you don’t already have one).

Candy – be sure to buy the kind you like!

And find something interesting to make at home…

If possible, try not to eat too much candy and Happy Halloween!
