Happy New Year! There aren’t any outdoor flowers in bloom where I am but here are some pictures from Kew Gardens I took a couple of years ago. It was a sunny day in May and I saw so many beautiful scenes like these.
This was a good choice for lunch.
It was a lovely day for flowers – I hope it isn’t long before spring is back!
Last week I went to Chicago and visited the Christmas Market. After I bought a hot chocolate at one of the refreshment stands it was time to see some of the items for sale.
It was a warm day for December so I decided to walk to Macy’s on State Street. It was so festive outside and inside!
This was truly a wonderful day… Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!
Now that it’s November these should be the last of the outdoor flowers. It’s much colder and the leaves are turning beautiful colors. Here’s a picture of some mums I saw on a walk a couple of weeks ago. I hope it won’t be too long before the flowers are back again!

It’s starting to look and feel like autumn. The mornings are cooler and the breeze is chillier. Yesterday I went on a walk and saw lots of pumpkins. Under the bright sunshine you could even see their shadows.
As I continued my walk I saw pine cones on the ground and in trees.
Then I noticed these cute carved pumpkins that weren’t scary at all.
My favorite was this owl.
Going on a pumpkin (and pine cone) walk was lots of fun!
It may be October but there are still so many flowers in bloom! On a walk yesterday I saw these colorful flowers. The bright sunshine made them sparkle.
The leaves haven’t started to change colors yet so I’ll enjoy these flowers for now. I hope they last a long time…
A visit to Lake Michigan on a sunny and windy afternoon was perfect for late September. Lots of people walked on the beach and the pier to the lighthouse. The spray from the waves got people (including me) a little wet!

It was a lovely day to spend at the beach while it is still warm…
There have been so many colorful flowers this summer I thought I’d share these pictures. Some are from my garden and others are from walks I’ve taken. It’s also been a wonderful year for hydrangeas – I’ve seen them with pink, blue and white blossoms. Flowers are part of what makes summer so memorable…
I visited Lake Michigan several times during the past year and It changed significantly from season to season. Here are some pictures showing the contrasts.
The winter featured snow and ice on the water.
The summer scenes are much more inviting if you want to swim! Here it’s early in the day and people haven’t arrived yet…

While I was on a walk I saw these dogwood trees – one blooming in white and the other in pink – under a bright blue sky.

It’s a lovely day for a walk in Colonial Williamsburg to see flowers, buildings, and shops that are currently open. The tree-lined sidewalks provide enough shade to stay cool.
Flowers are in bloom everywhere!
It’s interesting to look at the shop displays.
This is a charming place to walk any time of the year!
